Brittany & Stefan- How they Met
Brittany and Stefan grew up in the same town in Canada, but went to different high schools. They right were finally introduced by mutual friends in January of 2011, and hit it off right away. Their first date was to see the movie, Paranormal Activity at Grand Prairie Mall. Both love scary movies and their date went great. Brittany was nervous because she liked Stefan so much, that she doesn’t remember much of the date. She have a very vivid memory sharing their first kiss outside her apartment when he dropped her off. It’s one of her fondest memories. She said that Stefan was a catch back then and still is! He felt the same way about her so they became an instant couple, but didn’t make it official until February 7th in 2011.
Becoming an Official Couple
Brittany was driving them to a friend’s house and just as she was making a wrong turn he asked her to be his girlfriend. She was so caught off guard, she drove her car straight into a ditch. After the jolt from stop passed, Stefan looked at her and asked, “Is that a yes?” That’s when they started the next chapter of their lives. The following summer they got to take a cruise around Europe with Stefan’s family. That trip solidified their relationship. As they walked along the streets of Barcelona, they realized they were in love with each other. They talked about marriage often. But Stefan would always suggest it was a couple years away, so she wouldn’t suspect anything. Shortly after they retuned from the trip, Stefan surprised her with a proposal.
The Surprise Proposal
Brittany was out with her friend when she received a text message from Stefan that said, “I miss you. Come home. I have a surprise.” Intrigued, Brittany made her way home to find a blindfold hanging on their door. She put it on and he led her downstairs where he removed it to reveal champagne, roses, and he was wearing a suit! Stefan dropped to one knee and asked, “Brittany will you marry me?” and she didn’t believe him so she said, “This is mean!” . A bit shocked, he said, “This is real!”. She then noticed how nervous Stefan was and she started to cry and of course she said “YES!”
After the excitement and shock of the proposal, the wedding planning began. They travel to Phoenix from Canada often, and knew it would be the perfect location for their destination wedding. All family and guests attending the wedding travelled from Canada (and left a huge snow storm behind!). It was an absolute perfect day. Here are just a few of my favorite images.
I am so happy for my little cousin and his new bride. I must say, that I have never seen this before, but the very first picture of Stefan in this montage made me look twice. I have never seen Uncle Paul in him like I do now. Happy marriage and happy life, you two.
