Its official, we now have a Kindergartner.  Today, August 6th 2012,  was her first day of school.  Although there were no tears,  there were quite a few eye glances at me yelling “Mommmm!” because she did not want her photo taken.   I blame it on her nerves, not my photo skills.  I guess that come with the territory of being the daughter of a photographer.   I had to be a little sneaky with the photos- making sure not  to distract the new student.  Once she was seated at her desk and had chance to look around the room and take it all in,  she gave me quick smile.  Probably to say  “Its OK to leave now, Mom”.    I am so excited for the year ahead.  We feel so blessed to have such a happy, healthy 5 year old, a phenomenal teacher, and such a great public school.
