Nathan & Courtney – How They Met
Nathan and Courtney were married in a joyful Fall Wedding at Indian Wells Golf Resort. However, their love story began at the gym. “Officially” they met in a spin class. She knew of Nathan in high school because he was a friend of her older brother, but they had never officially introduced. Courtney had just been though a pretty rough breakup and was not looking to date. One night after spin class, she was introduced to Nathan. From then on, he would smile, say hi, and make small talk before and after spin class. They eventually exchanged numbers. It wasn’t long before Nathan asked her out on a date. She declined his offer. However, he was persistent and kept asking. She declined a few more times, and then eventually thought, ” I better agree -otherwise I won’t be able to go to spin anymore! She really liked spin.
From the first time Nathan picked Courtney up, she knew she was in trouble. Nathan won her over. He was kind, genuine, and respectful. He was also well liked by her parents and brothers. This was something that she didn’t take lightly.
The Proposal
After several months of dating, one night Nathan asked Courtney if she wanted to have dinner with his family and hers. Although this might be a tip of to most people, she didn’t think twice about the request. Often times they would go out to dinner with both families. Yet another reason why Courtney had fallen in love with Nathan- he loves to hang out with his parents.
They finally decided on meeting at Mario’s, a casual Italian cafe, in Palm Desert. Courtney remembers looking at Nathan’s mom not long after ordering a drink and she had her phone out and was recording. She then looked at Nathan and he was on one knee proposing. The first thing Courtney said was “At Mario’s?” Everyone laughed and then she said, “Yes!” The proposal was perfect because Nathan knew how much her family means to her and he wanted them to witness it. Courtney said it perfectly; “Nathan came in to my life when God knew I was ready for him. I am blessed beyond belief.”
