Rachel and Matt met several times…or so they’ve been told. However, April of 2013 is when they actually remember meeting at a friends party. They started spending time together and going on dates. After 6 months, Rachael realized they were dating. Several months later, she agreed that Matt was right (a fact he never lets her forget), she did love him.
Throughout their 2 years of dating, they talked about marriage on several occasions. Matthew has talked about a few ways he’s considered proposing; usually Rachael was grateful he had decided not to ask quite like that. One Friday in April they planned going on a date to the Gilbert temple to spend some time together. Matt was incredibly giddy and extra smiley that evening. After walking out the doors, Matt asked Rachael if she wanted to walk around the temple grounds right at the end of sunset. They sat down on a bench to talk, and he said he’d realized that Rachael didn’t want a big production for the proposal. Matt reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring asking for her hand in marriage.
They were married at the Temple in the afternoon, and had a dinner, ring exchange ceremony, and reception at Villa Siena in Gilbert later that evening. Here are a few photos from their wedding day:
